April 2008: The IMF Data Mapper has advanced to version 2.0 and now includes a bubble chart and much more functionalities to present and research data. December 2007: The IMF Data Mapper is tuned to display multiple datasets, now offering Balance of Payments data as well. November 2007: Our updated map of CO2 emissions is included in the Human Development Report 2007/2008, Fighting climate change, (UNDP). November 2007: The upgraded Millennium Development Atlas, issued by NCDO, blends resizing maps, the latest data, charts and rich content in one interface (in Dutch). November 2007: The Humanitarian Response Index is a new initiative by DARA to research and strengthen the quality of humanitarian aid. October 2007: The IMF Data Mapper displays key time series from the World Economic Outlook. October 2007: The Commitment Development Index 2007 ranks rich countries on their effort to contribute to international development. June 2007: Mapping Worlds receives a participants award at the OECD World Forum: Measuring Progress in Society. April 2007: Mapping Worlds designs a rich, interactive atlas of the Millennium Development Goals for the World Bank web site. March 2007: The UNFPA Aidsclock shows the current number of people infected with HIV. Mapping Worlds designed a map animation to display key HIV data and related content. January 2007: A monumental city map of an Amsterdam suburb displays density of residences and number of residences with newly arrived habitants. On display in the Dutch art space CBK Zuidoost. September 2006: The United Nations Population Division launches an animated world map to illustrate population growth since 1950, offering access to key demographic indicators.September 2006: A Mapping Worlds animation on the global growth of urban agglomerations is featured in the central presentation of the Architecture Biennale in Venice (Italy). August 2006: Like last year the Washington DC based Center for Global Development asked Mapping Worlds to visualize the Commitment to Development Index. June 2006: The World Population Map and the series on the Millennium Development Goals adorn the lobby of Oxfam House, Oxford (UK). June 2006: The dynamic version of the Millennium Development Goals map series is online at the site of the Dutch organization NCDO. May 2006: The Canadian McGill International Review publishes an introduction on Mapping Worlds, combined with a large reproduction of the world map on refugees and internally displaced persons. December 2005: The Dutch magazine Geografie starts the monthly publishing of eight maps from the Millennium Development Goals series. |
