Animated maps for tv documentary

The Dutch broadcaster VPRO has produced a Tegenlicht documentary about the global enegry risks. Transport of oil and gas from the reserves in the Middle East and Central Asia is an increasingly important geopolitical factor. Mapping Worlds and Rogério Lira designed a series of map animations.

Wall charts about Millennium Development Goals

The UK Department for International Development (DFID) adorned its annual meeting with a series of wall charts about the Millennium Development Goals. We could use our cartograms and the UN progress charts to create five posters with key messages.

Map tool to chart participating events

World Health Day 2010, organized by the World Health Organization, is all about a healthy life in cities. The 1000 cities, 1000 lives campaign stimulates people to organize health related events and share them on the web site. We developed a map tool to keep track of all events world wide.

The International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) is a new initiative which aims to make information about aid spending easier to access, use and understand. We will attend the first annual conference, held in The Hague (Netherlands), October 20/21, to share ideas about the role of visualisation in this effort.

Development aid poster

results of Dutch development aid

The Dutch Ministery of Development Cooperation has published its bi-annual report about results and effects of its share in development cooperation. The report prominently used our series of Millennium Development Goals cartograms to introduce each subject. A general audience poster, designed by Vandejong and presented by minister Koenders 26th September in The Hague, shows the same cartograms together. The other side of the poster has detailed world maps displaying data for every subject.

OECD World Forum

measuring progress in society

The OECD World Forum in Busan, South Korea (27-30 October) will bring together policy experts to discuss progress in society. Do we need new benchmarks to measure progress, and how can these help promote change?

Mapping Worlds will be participating in the exhibition Charting Progress, Building Visions, Improving Life. Come and visit us at stand C09. At the previous World Forum, held in Istanbul, Mapping Worlds and Swivel received the audience award for offering the best tools and services. We are aiming of course for another audience award in Busan!

A total of 33 million people world wide are curently infected with HIV. UNAIDS underlines the importance of universal access to treatment, prevention and care. We designed a data viewer to visualize key data with a map.
